Halls is in the process of applying for a parks and recreation grant through the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation's Recreation Resources Division.
The proposed project includes projects at three separate locations. At Critchfield Park, the Town of Halls is planning to convert two existing tennis courts into four pickleball courts. This transformation will include resurfacing the courts and adding lighting, ensuring that the new pickleball courts are both functional and enjoyable for all players.
At Kevan Ward Memorial Park, the City will be undertaking several improvements to the existing basketball court. The court will be resurfaced to provide a better playing experience, and an ADA compliant walkway will be constructed, connecting the parking facilities to the basketball court for easier access. In addition, two ADA parking spaces will be updated to ensure they meet current standards.
Lastly, at Halls Community Center, the Town proposes the addition of a restroom facility. This new facility will provide much-needed convenience for visitors and enhance the overall experience at the community center.
We are asking for the community's input on the proposed development and improvements. The full Project Proposal Presentation is available on the City's website (https://townofhallstn.us/) If you have any questions, you may contact Mayor Eugene Pugh at (731) 836-9653.
